Aesthetic 3D Lighting – Download
With the key light in place, we can move onto additional lights. For this scene we can use 3-point lighting for the woman (a key, a fill, and a rim) and 2-point lighting for the dungeon (a utility light that serves as a second key and a fill light). The rim light will help separate the woman’s frame-right shoulder from the background. The utility light will illuminate the dungeon wall where the torch model is visible. For a fill light, we can use a directional, spot, or point light. We’ll assume the light source is unseen and arriving from frame right. Figure 6.18 illustrates the addition of a point light with different intensity values that create different lighting ratios.
