While my heart was aching for some love, the development for the website was done. All that remained to do now was testing the website. We had to make sure we tested this thing thoroughly because it was an e-commerce store and it involved cash transactions. The last thing you want are any grumpy customers due to malfunctioning of the website. The layout of our store was pretty simple. You choose the city you belong to, select your school or college and click on it. On clicking, for example, Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, you’d be taken to a new page.
This page consisted of all the merchandise that we had to offer to the alumni of Bishop Cotton. It included hoodies and tees for now. But we planned to add mugs, caps, stickers etc. a month later. Once the customers are on the page they simply select the product they want. They then get re-directed to a checkout page where they simply enter their contact details and choose the payment option. As already mentioned earlier, we were very particular about the payment option because not everyone has a credit card or not everyone is comfortable using a credit card online. That’s where the Cash on Delivery option comes in
